Julia Gillard was the 27th Prime Minister of Australia (2010-13) and is currently the Chair of Wellcome, a global charitable foundation which supports science to solve urgent health challenges. Julia was the first woman to serve as Deputy Prime Minister and Prime Minister in Australia and has written two books about women in leadership and a life in public service. During her tenure, she transformed education and healthcare in Australia, and is a former Chair of the Global Partnership for Education. Julia worked for six years as a partner within the global law firm Slater & Gordon, focusing on employment law, before beginning a full-time political career as Chief of Staff to a former Premier of Victoria. Julia is also Patron of the Campaign for Female Education, Inaugural Chair of the Global Institute for Women’s Leadership at King’s College London, and Chair of Beyond Blue, a mental health charity in Australia. In 2017, she was awarded a Companion of the Order of Australia for services to economic and social development in Australia. She was named one of BBC’s 100 Women in 2018.

H.E. Mbelwa Brighton Kairuki is Tanzania’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom from August 2023 to date. Prior to his appointment, he was the United Republic of Tanzania’s Ambassador in Beijing, China who was also accredited to Vietnam, Mongolia and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) from 2017 to August 2023.

Margaret became the Labour Member of Parliament for Barking in June 1994. She has served in government, holding portfolios across education, work and pensions, business and culture. In 2010 Margaret became the first elected Chair of the Public Accounts Committee and was also its first female Chair. After retiring the post in 2015, Margaret later published Called to Account reflecting on her time as Chair of the PAC.

Margaret is the Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Anti-Corruption and Responsible Tax, where she has been relentlessly campaigning against financial crime and dirty money. Margaret is also a Visiting Professor at The Policy Institute at King’s College London, and Chair of College Council for Royal Holloway, University of London.

Kenneth is Managing Director, Strategy and Research at the Chandler Institute of Governance (CIG). In this role, he oversees the development and communications of CIG’s strategies, and sets the direction for CIG’s research endeavours, including the Chandler Good Government Index.

Kenneth is an experienced public policy practitioner and a former Singapore Administrative Service officer, with almost 20 years of work experience covering both policy development and implementation. Kenneth has held key appointments in varied portfolios including industry development, casino regulation, education, energy policy and environmental sustainability. Kenneth had also served as Special Assistant to the Deputy Prime Minister.

Lucy Fisher is Whitehall editor at the Financial Times and host of the FT's Political Fix podcast. She focuses on UK politics, the civil service, and foreign and defence policy. She is an associate fellow at the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI), the world’s oldest think tank. Previously she was Chief Political Correspondent and then Defence Editor at The Times, and later Chief Political Commentator at Times Radio.

Lucy has appeared regularly on the BBC and Sky News, including the programmes Newsnight, Westminster Hour, Today, World At One, PM and The Papers.
